House and Kitchen Extensions Before and After Ideas

There are many different reasons homeowners in London and Hertfordshire decide to extend their homes. Often, householders want to create a bright open plan kitchen, so they choose to add a rear or side house extension. Some need to add more space because their family is growing, and they do not want to move, so they decide to build a loft conversion. More people are now working from home, so they might want to create a home office by building an over-structure extension on top of an existing garage. It is also possible to create more than one extra room by building a two-storey extension.

The added benefit of extending your home is that it often improves the overall look of the existing property, especially when combined with exterior and interior renovation, as you can see from our house extension before and after pictures. Combined with sliding or bifold glass doors and Velux or similar roof light windows, home extensions will also bring natural light into your property, which can help improve mood and increase productivity, which is especially useful when working from home.

As reliable house extension specialists based in northwest London, we have built many home and kitchen extension projects across London and Hertfordshire. All our builders have at least five years of experience in their chosen field, whether they specialise in steelwork, facing brick walls, glazing, roofing or painting and decorating.

We also work with some of the best extension architects and interior designers in London, offering complete start to finish extension services. Our design and build services include optional 3D exterior and interior visualisation of your house extension. In our experience, a high-quality 3D rendering helps the homeowner understand how the complete extension will look and whether it fits with its surrounding seamlessly, rather than clashing with it, which can be useful when obtaining planning permission from the council.

3D visualisation can also help avoid possible misunderstanding during the build stage and makes communication between the client, architect, designer, contractor, and builders easier. It will also help you compare the look of your property before and after the home extension.

Before and After: Our Barnet Kitchen Extension Project

Working for one of the most popular restaurant chains in the world, our clients are passionate about quality food and cooking. So it made sense that they wanted to create a larger, brighter kitchen in their home.

We achieved this by building a large kitchen extension, designed by Alan Cox Associates in Barnet, at the rear of the original property. The glazed french doors and Velux skylights bring in natural light, making preparing food and socialising with family or friends even more enjoyable.

Our team of plumbers and electricians prepared the plumbing and electrics, making the new room ready for Handmade Kitchen Co. to fit and paint the kitchen cabinets. After laying the flooring tiles and completing the rest of the kitchen, our experienced painters and decorators worked closely with the interior designer, renovating all the rooms in the house to create the perfect interiors that our clients have visualised.

Finally, our skilled building contractors refreshed the property's exteriors so that the rest of the house complements the new extension perfectly.
